Shibuya Startup Support (SSS) ran a digital nomad program in September 2025. The program supported global talent working remotely while experiencing startup ecosystems across Japan, contributing to the vibrant Japanese startup ecosystem.
Following a pilot digital nomad program in February 2025, the September edition expanded its scope beyond Shibuya-based community events to include collaboration with the startup ecosystem in Osaka.

Workspace and Accommodation Support
Throughout the program, SSS played a key role in building the foundation necessary for participants to actively engage in Japan during their stay. In Shibuya, community hubs such as SHIBUYA BRIDGE and other coworking spaces were provided, offering environments for daily work and interaction.
SSS also supported participants by introducing accommodation options and providing discount codes to ease their stay in Japan. Beyond workspace and lodging support, SSS leveraged its network to connect participants with startup ecosystems primarily in Tokyo and Osaka, creating opportunities to meet entrepreneurs, support organizations, and local communities across Japan.
EDCON 2025
During the program period, SSS guided participants to major tech events held in Osaka, enabling them to experience startup ecosystems across different regions of Japan. With the cooperation of Osaka Innovation Hub, an innovation center in Osaka that brings together entrepreneurs and engineers aiming for global impact, participants were able to attend EDCON 2025, widely known as a premier Ethereum-focused global conference.
Collaboration with FUTRWORKS
The program also marked a new collaboration with FUTRWORKS, a coworking space in Osaka that attracts startups, creators, and digital nomads from both Japan and abroad to foster a globally minded community.
Program participants were able to use the FUTRWORKS coworking space free of charge and join FUTRFEST 2025, where they got the chance to attend Japanese culture workshops, wellness sessions, and participated in the Osaka Expo.
In February 2026, SSS will host Creative Tech Shibuya 2026, creating yet more opportunity for domestic and international entrepreneurs to gather in Shibuya and network. The latest information on upcoming events and seminars will be shared through SSS’s social media channels. We encourage you to follow us for updates.
SSS will continue to strengthen collaboration with startup ecosystems both in Japan and overseas, while providing ongoing support for international startups and foreign entrepreneurs entering the Japanese market.
