Japan Meets Paris

On May 23 SSS hosted Japan Meets Paris, a networking event for startups and entrepreneurs interested in entering the Japanese market. Startups, ecosystem builders connecting Japan with France and other countries, and investors attended the event, where they engaged in active networking, and ecosystem builders gave pitches and held open mic sessions for startups interested in expanding to Japan.

Visit to London

SSS fosters startups in a wide range of industries, but particularly focuses on supporting the impact, circular economy, and biotech sectors. To this end the SSS team met with ReLondon, a circular economy accelerator in the City of London, and Bethnal Green Ventures, an accelerator that supports early-stage impact startups. We also visited Imperial College‘s biotech lab, where we had the opportunity to learn more about the support and equipment needed for a biotech startup.

By engaging with these startups and support organizations in London and Paris, we were able to enhance the international presence of our local startup ecosystem. The Japan Meets Paris was particularly impactful, providing a unique opportunity to connect with startups from around the world interested in expanding to Japan, as well as highlighting the strengths of Shibuya’s startup scene.

SSS will continue to strengthen collaborations with startups or the ecosystem in London and Paris and further afield to promote overseas collaboration and support overseas startups entering the Japanese market.
