2024 September: Creativetech & Gaming Community Gathering

Shibuya Startup Support (SSS) held the Creativetech & Gaming Community Gathering at Shibuya Bridge on September 25. The event celebrated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SSS and Nordic Innovation House Tokyo.

Creativetech & Gaming Community Gathering

The Creativetech & Gaming Community Gathering opened with a talk by Yoshiro Tasaka of SSS, followed by reverse pitches from Niklas Karvonen of Nordic Innovation House and Olof Tedin, the event ambassador from Invest in Skåne. Shibuya startup visa holder Kushagra Kushwaha shared his experiences of launching a startup in Japan.

During the networking session, startups from the gaming industry that had come to Japan for the Tokyo Game Show engaged in lively discussions about entering the Japanese market, letting startups considering entering the Japanese market to hear practical experiences directly from Shibuya startup visa holders.

Upcoming Creativetech Event: DIG SHIBUYA 2025 & Creativetech Shibuya

In February 2025, the creativetech event DIG SHIBUYA 2025 will take place, blending technology and art for an immersive cultural experience. The inaugural DIG SHIBUYA in 2024 drew approximately 110,000 attendees over three days. This year, the event aims to engage international creators and a global community, featuring programs where entrepreneurs, innovators, and artists can showcase original exhibitions and event ideas.

During DIG SHIBUYA 2025 SSS will host Creativetech Shibuya – Startup Pitch & Business Matching. Targeting overseas creativetech startups looking to enter the Japanese market, this event will provide a platform for international startups to present their products and services while engaging in business matching opportunities with Japanese companies, venture capitalists, and corporate venture capitalists. More details will be released soon on SSS’s social media channels and in upcoming articles.
