We are implementing the Shibuya Foodloss Challenge, a pilot project to realize a future Shibuya with zero food waste, and are now accepting applications from participants.

Shibuya Ward is considering establishing an experimental space (tentatively named “Shibuya Scramble Lab”) where people can discover new values and perspectives and work together to put them into practice through repeated small-scale experiments. As a pilot project ahead of the lab's full launch, we will bring together people with a strong passion for food and creators, technologists, researchers, and others who wish to leverage their expertise to conduct a project focused on food waste over approximately four weeks (January 29 to March 5).The project will focus on the theme of “the potential for a future without food waste,” with approximately 20 selected participants engaging in a process that begins with individual reflection on their current food habits, followed by team-based vision-building, and finally, exploring questions to bring future ideas to life, all aimed at generating business-ready concepts.
