On March 6, 2024, a total of 5 organizations will conduct reverse pitches aimed at collaborating with startups in Shibuya City.
Reverse pitches are when sponsors pitch their pain points to see what solutions entrepreneurs can come up with. This event is designed to provide an opportunity for companies participating in the Shibuya Startup Deck and Shibuya City to communicate directly with Shibuya startups to raise the issues they want startups to solve.
In the first segment, Shibuya City and Shibuya Startup Deck companies will share challenges they wish to address with startups, and in the second segment, there will be an opportunity for direct discussions regarding collaboration possibilities.
Startups with a high potential for matching may also be approached to be considered for next term’s S-Startups certification.(More info)

Comment from Yoshiro Tasaka, Director of the Global City Promotion Office, Shibuya City
Startups are fantastic in pursuing new challenges, but sometimes their products may not seamlessly fit into our lives. I believe that sharing the challenges that municipal offices and collaborating companies face can improve startups’ ability to adapt their products to the market. We sincerely hope that you’ll take this opportunity to listen to our concerns and aim to create businesses that contribute to solving these challenges.

About Shibuya Startup Deck (SSD)
Shibuya Startup Deck, a consortium of Shibuya City government and private companies, supports startup cultivation through public-private partnerships. Named after the skateboard deck, symbolizing Shibuya as a hub of street culture, it embodies the idea of becoming a place where startups, like skateboarders, can stumble many times before achieving success. Many established companies participate as SSD members, providing tangible support and aiding in the growth of startups by providing opportunities and projects.
