Highlights of EDCON 2024 included Super Demo Day and the Ethereum Quorum, where the most pressing issues facing the Ethereum community were discussed. The main event also featured speakers such as Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum, and Keisuke Honda, angel investor, entrepreneur, and former Japanese professional soccer player.

On the first day of the main event, Akiko Miyamoto — Director of Industry, Tourism, and Culture for Shibuya City — and Yoshiro Tasaka from Shibuya Startup Support joined Takuo Inoue from Tokyo Institute of Technology for the discussion, “Japan Startup Ecosystem with the Shibuya City Government.”

EDCON Side Event: Shibuya Networking Party

On July 31 after EDCON closed, we held an EDCON side event in collaboration with SSS’ Snack & Connect event, which takes place every Wednesday at 4 PM at Shibuya Bridge. The event was co-hosted with Yokohama City and STARTUP HOKKAIDO, with Furious Green, Takeoff Tokyo, and Tokyo Startup Lunch Club participating as event partners. The event brought together Web3-related startups and ecosystem builders from around the world who had participated in EDCON 2024, along with SSS visa holders and many domestic startups based in Shibuya.
