What is the Introduction Pitch?
The Introduction Pitch is an event where international founders building startups in Japan introduce their products, services, and vision. Following the presentations is a Q&A plus a networking session, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with speakers and attendees.
This session featured Louis from Matomates and Ethan from BeAvatar.
Matomates is an all-in-one e-learning platform for Japanese learners preparing for the JLPT. It brings together structured lessons for vocabulary, grammar, and kanji, along with flashcards and realistic JLPT-style simulations. Originally created to make JLPT preparation simpler, more organized, and easier to continue over time, Matomates has grown to support more than 30,000 learners worldwide.Learners can study step by step, review what they have learned, practice with targeted exercises, and identify the areas where they need to improve. Currently available as a web-based service, Matomates is also preparing to launch a mobile app later this year. Looking ahead, the project aims to expand beyond individual exam preparation by supporting Japanese language schools, international talent, and organizations seeking to strengthen Japanese communication skills in academic and professional settings.
BeAvatar is a Human-AI Interaction platform that enables natural communication between people and AI. Powered by patented technology, it combines 3D AI Digital Human, multimodal AI, and large language models to create engaging and intuitive experiences across retail, exhibitions, and public services. In the near future, they are expanding from 3D AI Digital Human to Human-AI Interaction for humanoid robotics.
